Look to the Light.

What I got from watching the Mormon Message – "Look to the Light" video.

 https://youtu.be/Aup9M5HZawI

“Light and darkness cannot occupy the same space at the same time”

“The world has a chance to change. The world can become what Jesus intended it to be from the beginning. The world has a chance to except his love and follow him.” Sal, Contractor, New Jersey, USA

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believes on me should not abide in darkness.” John 12: 46

What does this mean? If light is Jesus Christ what is Darkness, The Devil? I'm going with this theory and running with it. I hope it's not like running with scissors.  I believe that if we have Jesus Christ in our life the Devil can not really harm us unless we let him in. If we do that the the light of Christ will become darker in us. Jesus Christ will keep on shinning brighter than we can comprehend. That is why we have a savior to rescue us. Jesus was born so man can be saved. At any moment we have and can be saved by excepting Jesus Christ and his love. We can all repent it is never to late. Would it not be the greatest gift we can give our Heavenly Father is that all my receive his atoning sacrifice and return to him? I say yes. Please be kind to one another no matter what you believe. Kindness can not hurt you or the one whom is receiving that kindness.

Book of Mormon; Mosiah 3: 19

Reads: “For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth sumit to his father.”

Let us ponder this verses as I had to for a class assignment this week. We were asked to answer the following questions as it related to this verse.

Question 1. How does the Atonement allow you to overcome the natural man?
Question 2. Why is it only through the Atonement of Christ that you can become a Saint?

Is the answer as simple as just naming off the list in the scripture? Could be, but what would we learn from that. Might I suggest another idea? I’d like to find the meaning of these words as they are being used in the verse. These are my definitions so I may be wrong. This is why I’d like your thoughts on this verse.
1.     Yields to the enticing of the Holy Spirit. = Listens for and then do as The spirits directs.
2.     Putteth off the natural man. = Not letting the physical body determine my actions.
3.     Becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord. = Believing in Christ and his role as my redeemer.
4.     Becometh as a child, = teachable
5.     submissive = will to listen
6.     meek = know that there is a higher power
7.     humble = Not being prideful and think I can do it all by myself
8.     patient = Waiting for the Lords timeline
9.     full of love = Loving all as he has loved us.
10.  will to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him = Being thankful for all my blessings and trails and know they are all for my benefit to grow.
11.  even as a child submits to his father = a way of showing respect to the one who gave me this mortal body to be tested.
Well I hope I am on the right track here. Please feel free to engage in creative responses to learning as we all move toward our heavenly goals. Please respectful to all who post on this blog.

Thank you,
Kevin

This week I'd like to see if anyone has had a positive results from following the Scriptures.

Well no responses to my original post. That is ok.. I hope to be able to share our thoughts with each other. I am looking forward to others to post or reply to anything I might ask. I am young in the knowledge of Jesus words so to speak and listening to others points of views. By listening to others sometime I get a deeper understanding of the Principle or Doctrine that is being read. This week we studied 2 Nephi Chapters 28 to 33.
My group concentrated on 2 Nephi 28: 30-32 and 29: 1-2. As we read we decided that "line upon line" was letting us know that Jesus has an order that he wants us to learn and that we must first receive and learn then do the first step before moving onto the line or step. It was decide also that if we receive his word then decide well I really do not like that council so i'm going to skip that and move on to the next step. The problem with that theory is we decide at that point the individual would not receive the next step for them to follow. and then they would start to lose the wisdom that they had received.
For verses 1-2 it was determined that the Lord has promised and has kept his covenants with Lehi and Nephi and all their seeds. His "hiss" is what we will recognize as him calling us back because we will know his voice when we hear it. In addition to this we also felt that "bring forth a second hand" was talking about the Book of Mormon. Well that are my thoughts on these verses. Please fell free to add your thoughts so I may get a better understanding of these scriptures.

I do not Speak for the Church ever. I am not in the proper authority to do so.

Let me tell you what I mean by that. I don't want people to think I have permission from the Church to speak on their behalf. The Church wants us to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In doing so I will try to teach what I have been taught and what I believe to be true doctrine. When it comes to Church administration I will defer everyone to the website of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. www.lds.org I would like this blog to have positive comments only. We may not agree on every post but we all should be able to show respect to each other in a kindly manner. Jesus has taught:

John 13:34

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Le's try to use this scripture as we write post on this blog and in everything we do. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
